Brief Biography

 

Dr. Dai is an Assistant Professor at University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK), jointly appointed by Dept of EECS (Electrical Engineering & Computer Science) and Dept of IIE (Industrial & Information Engineering). Before joining UTK, He was an Assistant Professor of the Computer Science Department of Purdue University School of Science, at IUPUI since 2004. He received his PhD from National University of Singapore, and Bachelor from Tsinghua University. He has published 4 Books, and more than 60 Articles on top Journals and Conferences (including INFOCOM; IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering; IEEE Transactions on Computers; IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing; IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, Part A.; IEEE Transactions on Reliability; IIE Transactions, ......). He was awarded as the "Most Favourite Professor Award 2005" for teaching, voted by all the Computer Science Students at IUPUI. He was profiled by “Industrial Engineer Magazine” (December, 2004). He was also featured by IUPUI News (Feb. 22th, 2004) due to the research achievement in Dependable and Secure Medical Information Systems. His research is in Dependability, Grid computing, Autonomic Computing, and Security.

 

Dr. Dai serves as the Guest Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Reliability. He is a Program Chair for a regular and prestigious IEEE conference, the 12th Pacific Rim Symposium on Dependable Computing (PRDC2006), He is also a Founder and General Chair for the IEEE Symposium on Dependable Autonomic and Secure Computing (DASC05, 06, 07), and a Chair of   (TACS06), (TAUES05), (RAMPDS05). He also serves as the Guest Editor for the Journal of Computer Science, and Lecture Notes of Computer Science. Dr. Dai also serves on the Editorial Board for  International Journal of High Performance Computing and Networking, International Journal of Performability Engineering and Journal of Autonomic and Trusted Computing.
