Windows Tools

At work I'm stuck with a Win2K machine. Here's some tools that help make it liveable:

  • Cygwin UNIX environment for Windows - A must have. You'll almost forget your in Windows.
  • LiteStep desktop for Windows - Now you really think you're sitting at your Gnome/Linux box. Except it crashes...
  • The VIM (Vi IMproved) Home Page - The best text/code editor around. It has an OLE interface, so you can use within MS VisualStudio. Emac what?
  • Scan Code Mapper for Windows - Put that Ctrl and Caps key in the correct place.
  • How to Enable Auto-Complete Feature In The Command Prompt - Autocomplete in the Windows command prompt console
